GERC Child Consultation Sessions

Parents of gifted children often face challenges in engaging with them. After a long working day, it is becoming normal to give the children a tablet to entertain themselves while parents deal with meals, night conference calls, and other distractions. Conversations with the children are usually limited to “how’s your day” or “have you completed your homework”, where a single word response has became acceptable and the children are seldom required to think critically or creatively.

GERC Child Consultation Session provides opportunities for children with gifts and talents to engage in Socratic discourse. In the comfort of your home, our academic director will interact with your children in a range of topics to guide them in their thinking process and reasoning skills. From art history to philosophy and current affairs, your children will lead the discussion in the area that they are interested in or currently working on, with our academic director providing prompts and questions to help your children to process the information they have and to ponder deeper about the topic. For some children, this may also involve home experiments and crafting sessions if they show interest and talents in these areas.
The GERC Child Sessions are offered by invitation only after the children are profiled through our Consultation Session. This is because not all children will required this personal consultation. For more information, please contact us here.
