The GERC Mission

GERC believes that gifts and talents come in many forms and do not manifest at a predetermined age. Our mission is to provide research-based strategies and resources to parents and educators in their journey of helping children realise their gifts and talents.

Academic Director Profile

Dr. Juliana Tay holds a PhD in Educational Studies (Gifted Education) from Purdue University. She has over a decade of researching and teaching high-ability children from all over the world. Formerly a subject head in Marsiling Secondary and Raffles Institution, her teaching experience range from from neighborhood schools to elite institutions.

During her time in Purdue University, she was the coordinator of youth programs for Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute (GER²I). These programs were designed to help young children discover their gifts and talents in different areas, and develop critical and creative thinking skills. Her passion is to bring over her experiences with the GER²I youth programs to benefit the local children and parents.

She is currently teaching education studies in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University to a new generation of educators.
